Please be advised that changes made to templates affects past and future audits made using the template. Only admins may edit templates.

This article covers how to edit a template in audits.io and is separated into the following chapters; Change template name, Add question, Delete question and Change answer options.

  1. Start by logging in to labs (https://labs.audits.io).
  2. Select templates from the menu on the left.
  3. Click Edit on the template you wish to edit.

Change template name

Click the pencil icon next to the name you wish to change. You may also change the names of sections by clicking the pencil icons next to them.

This opens a window from where you can change the name of the template, as well as archive it if it is no longer in use.

Add question

Open up the section where you wish to add a question by clicking the small downward facing arrow next to the pencil icon. Once the section is opened, click Add Question on the bottom of the section.

This opens a window where you may insert the question, help text (optional) and answer choices or alternatively select the option for free text answers.
Additional answer choices may be added by clicking Add Answer at the bottom of the page, and these may be removed by clicking the rubbish bin icon next to the answer choice. The minimum number of answer choices is two.
The new question will be created and added to the template once you click save.

Delete question

Open up the section with question you wish to delete by clicking the small downward facing arrow next to the pencil icon. Once the section is opened, select the pencil icon next to the question you wish to delete.

This opens up a the Edit Question window. The question can be deleted by clicking Delete Question on the bottom of the page.

Change answer options

Please note that it is not possible to add or remove the number of answer choices to an existing question. It is also not possible to change the answer type between answer choices and free text after a question has been created. To do either of these actions, please create a new question to replace the one you wish to edit.

It is possible to change the text in the question, help text and answer choices. Click the small downward facing arrow next to the pencil icon to open up the section, then select the pencil icon next to the question you wish to edit.

This opens up the Edit Question window. Changes can be made to all text fields; question name, help text and answer choices.
