Incognito mode / private mode prevents your browser from storing browsing data, so that it can't be retrieved later. This means that your searches, visited pages, login details and cookies will not be saved on the device after you close your private windows. This is especially important if you are using a shared device for whistleblowing reporting.

Below are instructions on how to enable incognito mode / private mode on some of the most common browsers that incy.io supports. Full list of supported browsers found here.

Desktop

Google Chrome

Open an incognito window by navigating to the menu in the top right corner of your browser window, then selecting New Incognito Window.

Shortcuts are also available:

  • Windows and Linux: With the browser open, press Ctrl + Shift + N simultaneously.

  • Mac: With the browser open, press Command + Shift + N simultaneously.

Mozilla Firefox

Open a private window by navigating to the menu in the top right corner of your browser window, then selecting New Private Window.

Shortcuts are also available:

  • Windows and Linux: With the browser open, press Ctrl + Shift + P simultaneously.

  • Mac: With the browser open, press Command + Shift + P simultaneously.

Microsoft Edge

Open a private window by navigating to the menu in the top right corner of your browser window, then selecting New InPrivate Window.

Shortcuts are also available:

  • Windows and Linux: With the browser open, press Ctrl + Shift + N simultaneously.

  • Mac: With the browser open, press Command + Shift + N simultaneously.

Mobile

Safari for iOS

Open your Safari browser and select the Tabs view in the bottom right corner of your screen. Then select Private to the left. Any new tabs you now open using the Plus-sign will be opened in private mode.

Chrome for Android

Open your Chrome browser and select the Tabs view in the bottom of your screen, slightly to the right. Then select Incognito on the top, to the left. Any new tabs you now open using the Plus-sign will be opened in incognito mode.
